Happy Birthday Doctor Seuss!

Oh and sorry but you’re cancelled.

Yes, the progressive woke Democrats have declared that Doctor Seuss must go. True, true, he penned many a children’s book without problem, but during world war 2 he penned political cartoons that stereotyped Asians. You know, the slant eyed bastards that bombed pearl harbor and were our mortal enemy. All just a misunderstanding that attack on Pearl Harbor I’m sure.

Of course he also published political cartoons like this one, and was a staunch advocate for racial equality, but we can’t count any of that.

Because you know, a guy poking fun at Hitler is clearly a racist.

Don’t take it from me, take it from Donald Trump, who uttered these quotes:

“The works of Theodor Seuss Geisel, better known to us as Dr. Seuss, have sparked a love for reading in generations of students, his whimsical wordplay and curious characters inspire children to dream big and remind readers of all ages that a person’s a person no matter how small.”

He described Seuss as “one of America’s revered wordsmiths” who “used his incredible talent to instill in his most impressionable readers universal values we all hold dear.”

Oh wait, did I say Trump? I meant Barack Obama who actually said all that.

One of my friends in college, an African American fellow who was “from privilege” one day sat in the dorm with me and we leafed through a copy someone had given him of “Oh the Places You’ll Go.” He ended up in the NBA. But he cherished that book that someone important in his life had given him. ‘You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose.'” Here was a guy set to make millions and it was abundantly clear to me that this little cartoon book meant a great deal to him. Powerful stuff.

Trump used the quote above directly in his annual “read across America” proclamation. The day is meant to celebrate reading amongst children and no one has inspired more reading in children over the years than Theodore Seuss Geisel.

So now this March 2nd Joe Biden has put out his reading day proclamation. And for the first time in a long number of years… Doctor Seuss was not mentioned. Despite the day being his birthday. I wonder why a celebration worthy of read across America day would coincide with his birthday?

Perhaps it was an oversight? You know better, don’t you? Cancelled. If even Obama acknowledged the greatness of the children’s author we all grew up with, couldn’t both sides put the war aside for one day? Apparently not. The woke warriors are relentless.

Be of good cheer though, and take with you this thought, for we are still hear and not all is for naught:

“Step with care and great tact
and remember that Life’s
a Great Balancing Act.
Just never forget to be dexterous and deft.
And never mix up your right foot with your left.”
– Oh, The Places You’ll Go! (1960)

  1. I believe the best way to handle the “cancel culture” is to deny them the privilege. If We The People simply ignore their decrees, cries of outrage & the vitriol they spew, they’ll have no recourse.

We The People KNOW what is true. We KNOW our rights. We also see their hypocrisy. They’re excoriating Gov. Cuomo over sexual harassment allegations, yet yet ELECTED the “Sniffer in Chief” into the Whitehouse.

They say “Trump Lies” but refuse to believe VIDEO EVIDENCE when their own are caught.

A house built on lies will fail. Eventually, they’ll be in prison or out of office.
