You may have seen the Senate parliamentarian, the person who makes determinations of what the rules of the Senate are, came out and correctly ruled that the Senate cannot include a minimum wage increase in their Covid relief bill under the reconciliation process. That’s a process they are already using to skirt around the filibuster rules.
You see the entire idea of the rules requiring 60 votes to break a filibuster is to ENSURE that there is at least some bi-partisan buy-in to legislation. Reach across the aisle and get the votes you need.
