The liberal hack papers down here, The Miami Herald being the biggest offender, of course have painted an extremely large target on the back of the man who is probably the nation’s best governor.
Since he’s been nothing short of spectacular in his term as governor they’ve mostly tried to bash the one thing that they hoped would stick: his handling of the coronavirus pandemic. And since he’s pretty arguably done a good job of that, they had to attack his administration and their numbers.
Enter Rebekah Jones, the former dashboard manager for the Florida Department of Health who filed a whistleblower claim that she was ordered to alter raw data in order to make the state’s coronavirus response look better than it actually was.
In a rush that even the “I believe her!” crowd would have been impressed with the liberal media was all over this. Of course Florida’s response couldn’t have been this good – unless they were cooking the books! And here was the proof. They spent months going after him and the administration – where there was smoke there was obviously fire!
Except they all ignored fairly obvious hints that maybe, just maybe… none of that was true. And once again, much like the Wuhan Lab Leak Theory, the passage of time has grown to tell us another tale.
Jones initially claimed she was fired from her role as a dashboard manager over her refusal to alter the state’s COVID data to protect the reputation of the DeSantis administration, but public records obtained by National Review‘s Charles Cooke show that she never had access to the raw data in the first place — and was in fact fired for repeated performance failures and insubordination. Oops!
After being confronted with her own personnel records, Jones admitted that she was never asked to delete information on coronavirus deaths from the public dashboard and went so far as to say she had never claimed otherwise, despite the existence of numerous tweets and other public statements in which she clearly accused her superiors of ordering her to cover up the true number of COVID deaths in Florida.
Her Twitter account was suspended – an account that over and over again posted articles from the aforementioned Miami Herald touting her false claims.
The governor’s office summed it up nicely:
“This decision was long overdue. Rebekah Jones is the Typhoid Mary of COVID-19 disinformation and has harmed many hardworking DOH employees with her defamatory conspiracy theories,” DeSantis’s office said in a statement.
Damn straight. Question the liberal media and watch their bullshit fall apart.
I just read an article which exposed the practices enacted by a California county resulting in COVID-19 death toll numbers being off by 25%! 🙄🤔
If it isn’t the media, it’s the liberals in power doing everything they can to keep a grasp on the power they’ve taken.
