Biscuit of the Week!

As it is with so many nominees the body of work surrounding this particular biscuit is well deserving of holding the trophy for a week.

You may be familiar with her story, recently the University of North Carolina board denied offering Nikole Hannah-Jones a tenured professorship and instead just offered her a nice salary and a five year contract. As you might expect since she’s a controversial African American female the liberals lost their collective minds over the decision.

But who is Nikole Hannah-Jones? She is the genius behind the New York Time’s 1619 Project, a re-telling of American history that explains to all you knuckleheads that this country basically only exists because white people wanted to enslave black people. Forget all that bullshit about fleeing religious persecution and telling King George to fuck off, nay, that’s not why Washington, Jefferson and the boys got together at all.

With fame, however, comes the inevitable: the hypocrisy of people like Jones are exposed. In 2017 she won a “genius grant” for her work on the project. She’s won a Pulitzer prize. For what? For coming up with a fictionalized version of what she feels happened 250 years ago. Brilliant.

People in Oregeon asked questions when Jones was asked to develop and give two webinars to talk about the project. The state paid her $50,000 for two of them. TWO. In the webinars she told students and faculty that the U.S. has never lived up to its founding ideals, “colorblindness” is a pipe dream, that “what we call American history is really White history,” and that Black Americans are the founding fathers. Right.

Oh, and the state took the money from the budget of a program meant to combat absenteeism in school children to pay her.

If you go to her website you are greeted by this quote: “I see my work as forcing us to confront our hypocrisy, forcing us to confront the truth that we would rather ignore.”

Let me get this straight. You are getting $50K to do two webinars, you get paid who knows what from the fake news New York Times, UNC just offered you a job it just didn’t include immediate tenure and you think you are surrounded by hypocrisy? Sounds to me like you are surrounded by privilege – undeserved privilege at that.

She’s right about one thing – racism will never end in this country as long as biscuits like her continue to fan the flames of it to enrich themselves. There is profit in hate my friends, don’t fall for it.

  1. MLK, Jr. is Croc Rolling right now. His ideas have been thrown out. He didn’t want hate to be what defines a race, yet from Jesse Jackson, Louis Farrakhan, Al Sharpton and other charlatans, all I’ve ever heard from them is hate.

I served with many people of color in the military. I didn’t see the divides they claim existed. My “brothers and sisters in arms” were the ones who had my back.

What is happening to our great nation at this time is atrocious.
